Recording the Mandolin
| | | Place large or small diaphram condensor mic 6 to 18 inches in front of the sound hole on a "frypan" model mandolin. On an 'f' hole model (those mandolins based on the Gibson F 5), place the mic 6 to 18 inches from the lower "f" hole. Stereo can be achieved by placing one mic in front of the sound hole. Place the second mic 6 to 18 inches over the fingerboard where it mets the body of the instrument. Watch out for phasing problems | | |
